Graduated in Education (Bachelor’s degree in Spanish language and literature) (2002) from the Universidad de Pinar del Río: Hermanos Saíz Monte de Oca (Cuba). Holds a PhD (2016) in Letters (Literary Theory/Comparative Literature) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (PROEX-AUIP Scholarship). Has postdoctoral studies in History from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) (2018) researching the historical-literary variations of Cuban intellectualism in the 20th century; member of the Study Group on Poetry and Culture (GEPOC/ CNPq – UFSCar), the Research Group on Formation, Interculturality, and Innovation in Education (UNINI) of the NELHI (Center for Studies in Literature and History-UFSC) and associated researcher with the Research Line in Literature, Humanism, and Cosmopolitanism of the Global Studies Center (CIPSH) at the Open University in Portugal (UAb). Faculty member of the online seminar: Race and Racism in Cuba: Absences, Emergencies, and Contemporary Challenges for the fourth and fifth editions of the Certificate in Afro-Latin American Studies (September 2022-March 2023/ September 2023-March 2024) at The Afro-Latin American Research Institute at the Hutchins Center (ALARI), Harvard University. Primarily works in the areas of Spanish language teaching, integrated content and language learning (ICLL), comparative literature, Latin American and Cuban poetry, lyrical modernity, and the poetics of literary discourse and subjectivity.
