Fabio Mario da Silva is a Professor of Literature at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco/Serra Talhada Academic Unit and Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Language Studies (PROGEL) at UFRPE. He holds a post-doctorate in Portuguese Literature from the University of São Paulo, with a scholarship from FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation) and in Portuguese Studies from the University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Literature (with a scholarship from FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal) and a master’s degree in Lusophone Studies (with a scholarship from the Portuguese Community of Pernambuco) from the University of Évora (Portugal). He is a collaborating researcher at the CEC (Center for Classical Studies) of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon and the ILCML (Margarida Losa Institute of Comparative Literature) of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. He is also a member of the team of the International and Multidisciplinary Center for Epic Studies (CIMEEP) at the Federal University of Sergipe. He is an external associate member of CRIMIC (Centre de Recherches Interdisciplinaires sur les Mondes Ibériques Contemporains) at the Sorbonne Université. Together with Professor Cláudia Pazos Alonso (University of Oxford), directed the edition of the Complete Works of Florbela Espanca by Editora Estampa (Lisbon), up to volume 4, and also organized, together with Cláudia Alonso, an edition of the Works of the modernist Judith Teixeira, with previously unpublished texts, by Editora Dom Quixote. He prepared the edition of the epic trilogy of Soror Maria de Mesquita Pimentel, the first epic written by a woman in Portuguese, and is currently preparing the edition of the complete works of the nineteenth-century writer Ana Plácido. He is the organizer of several intentional events, with emphasis on the International Congress on Gender Studies in the Portuguese and Italian language context.
