Susana Ornelas graduated in Philosophy from the Portuguese Catholic University, Faculty of Philosophy – Braga – Funchal Extension (1983-1988); professionalised at the University of Madeira after her internship at the Dr. Ângelo Augusto da Silva Secondary School (1990-1992); a post graduated degree in Pedagogical Supervision and Training of Trainers from the Paula Frassinetti School of Education, Porto (2010-2012); a master’s degree in Educational Sciences, specialising in Pedagogical Supervision, from the Paula Frassinetti School of Education, Porto (2013-2014) and completed the curricular units of her PhD in Global Studies from the Infante Dom Henrique Open University Chair for Atlantic Island Studies and Globalisation, Portugal (2019-2021). Since 1989, she has been teaching philosophy and psychology, as well as vocational courses at Escola Básica e Secundária Dr. Ângelo Augusto da Silva, carrying out a variety of projects, such as the Multidisciplinary Team / “Healthy Travel” Project.
