Sónia Vazão holds a degree in art History by the Faculty of arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra and is currently a doctoral student in global Studies at the Universidade Aberta, of Lisbon. In addition to her teaching activity – Middle schools, High Schools and College –, has collaborated with the Grão Vasco Museum, in Viseu, and with the General Direction of the Buildings and National Monuments as an inventory technician. From February 2012 to January 2019 was also part of the Museum of the Shrine of Fatima where she coordinated the Inventory, Exhibition and Interpretation of the Heritage Service. Currently works in the department of Studies of the Shrine of Fatima, working in the research field, and is also a member of the artistic Heritage Department of the Diocese of Leiria-Fatima. Also belongs to the University of Lisbon’s European and Lusophone Centre of Culture and literature (CLEPUL) and is a founding member of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Catholicism and globalization (IEAC-GO) as well as the institute Patroness of Portugal for the Study of Mariology (IPPEM).
