Rui Gonçalo Maia Rego

He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (2023) and was awarded a doctoral scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) for his thesis: “Altruism and Practical Rationality in the Philosophy of Thomas Nagel”. He is currently a fellow at the Universidade Aberta, integrated member of the Center for Global Studies (Politics, Human Rights and Global Citizenship, Dignipédia Global, EEA Grants – Active Citizens Fund | Active Citizens Program – Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation / Bissaya Barreto Foundation) and collaborating in the Center of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon. He has published on problems relating to ethics and practical rationality. At the same time, he is involved in the third sector, in different NGOs, having represented them on the Plenary of the Economic and Social Council (CES) and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG).
