Rosana Albuquerque holds a PhD in Sociology, specializing in Sociology of Migrations, from Universidade Aberta (Portugal), completed a master in Intercultural Relations at the same University and has a degree in Social Policy from the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas. Professor at Universidade Aberta since 1999, currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Social and Management Sciences. She teaches at the BA in Social Sciences, masters in Women Studies-Gender, Citizenship and Development and in Intercultural Relations, PhD in Social Sustainability and Development and PhD in Intercultural Relations. As a researcher at the Center for Migration Studies and Intercultural Relations, has been studying issues relating to social policies and promotion of equality and equity, civic participation and citizenship, with an intersectional lens on class, race and gender relations – all themes that frame my interest in the construction of knowledge and relationships between beings inhabiting our common home – Planet Earth.
