Ricardo Nuno de Jesus Ventura, contracted researcher (IECCPMA, since july 2022), post-doctoral grant in History (FCT: SFRH/BPD/78483/2011), phD grant in Literature and Cultural Studies (FCT: SFRH/BD/31027/2006). Has been developing his research activity in Humanities (Early Modern History; Cultural History; Cultural Studies), in a multidisciplinary approach, through the study and edition of Early Modern Portuguese and Latin sources. Has developed and participated in several projects that aimed to organize corpora of sources mainly related to: 1) the religious missions in the context of the Portuguese Empire; 2) the international and natural law in the 16th century; 3) intercultural and interreligious relations in the Early Modern context. Among the outputs of his research, stand out the coordination of 2 volumes of the Complete Works of António Vieira; and the collection, paleographic transcription and translation of Latin texts of natural law in two projects for the study and collection of sources from the Iberian Peace School (FCT: PTDC/FIL-ETI/119182/2010; PTDC/MHC-FIL/4671/2014). Currently, he integrates the research team of the project Pombal Global, focusing on sources related to Portuguese colonial policies in the 18th century, and is also participating in a multidisciplinary research regarding a longue durée history of rice in the Atlantic (XV-XIX centuries) and European extensions of the Black Rice thesis (cf. https://www.studistorici.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/03_SOUSA-BIVAR-CARMO-VARELA-VENTURA.pdf).
