He completed a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Lisbon in 2000, a Masters in Philosophy at the Faculty of Letters of the same University in 1989 and a degree in Philosophy at the same institution in 1981. He teaches and researches in the areas of Philosophical Anthropology, Philosophy of Religion, Oriental Philosophy, World Philosophies, Philosophy in Portugal, Philosophy and Meditation, Medicine and Meditation, Spirituality and Mysticism. He is the author of 68 books of philosophy, aphorisms, poetry, fiction and theatre, published in Portugal, Brazil, Spain and the UK, as well as almost four hundred articles and other texts in scientific journals and collective works, published in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Romania, Turkey, the UK, the USA, Brazil, Colombia, Timor and Macau.
