She has a PhD in Language Teaching – Multilingualism and Education for Global Citizenship from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in partnership with Universidade Aberta. She has a Master’s degree in Pedagogical Supervision from Universidade Aberta and a degree in Translation from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

Her areas of interest and research are Vocational Education and Training; Distance Education; Educational Technologies; Pedagogical Supervision and Didactics.

Her research has a strong practical component due to her professional experience as a trainer of foreign languages (English and Spanish) at Médio Tejo Employment and Vocational Training Centre (Centro de Emprego e Formação Profissional do Médio Tejo) and later at Leiria Employment and Vocational Training Centre (Centro de Emprego e Formação Profissional de Leiria). At the latter centre she was a senior technician and assistant director. She currently works as a senior technician at the National Qualifications Centre for Trainers (CNQF), part of the Vocational Training Department of the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training.
