Maria Luísa Soares da Silva has an academic degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, obtained in 2002 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Porto University (Portugal), and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry obtained at the same institution in 2007. In 2008-2009 she worked as a post-doc researcher at the Proteomics Unit – IPATIMUP (Portugal). From 2012 to 2021 she worked as a professor and researcher at the Autonomous University of Hidalgo State (México), teaching diverse subjects of Analytical Chemistry, in the undergraduate and postgraduate (master and doctorate) programs. Her scientific research has been focused on Electrochemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Biotechnology applied to health issues, namely in the development of impedimetric lectin-based biosensors for the detection of cancer serum glycobiomarkers. Since 2020 she has been working as a scientific writer, in the field of Biotechnology. She has also collaborated as e-learning teacher at UALV – Universidade Aberta (Portugal), in online courses related with pharmaceutical and health sciences.
