Born in Mozambique in 1959. PhD in History by Lisbon University. Specialty: Contemporary History. Research work: mainly about the Portuguese dictatorship, Salazar’ regime “Estado Novo” and consequently about the memories of violence, censorship, political prisoners, concentration camps, and the II World war as well the struggles for freedom and for human and civil rights. Has various publications and conferences in Portugal and abroad. As a member of the former group of Studies of Labor and Social conflicts of the Faculty of Humanities of the Universidade Nova of Lisbon, has organized several meetings and congresses. Member of the research group “Uses of the Past” of the Faculty of Letters of Lisbon University. Teacher in Portuguese public school; Belongs to the Portuguese Teacher’s Training Center. Currently carries on research about the Portuguese in the Holocaust and the Jews in Portugal.
