Maria de Fátima Goulão holds a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences – Adult Education from Universidade Aberta and is a certified trainer by the National Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuous Training. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oviedo, under the supervision of Prof. Rebeca Cerezo Menéndez. She is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Aberta. She taught the course “How to Learn to Read and Write – Motivation Strategies” for Timorese teachers via videoconference, under a protocol established between Universidade Aberta and the World Bank. She has participated in European projects related to Portuguese as a non-native language and the use of ICT, and teacher training in the context of drug prevention in youth, serving as a coordinator or team member.
