Currently, I am an Assistant Professor (Life Tenured) of Business Law and the Data Protection Officer of IPBeja – Polytechnic University of Beja, Portugal, along with being a Senior Researcher and a Member of the Coordinating Committee of Lab UbiNET – Computer Security and Cybercrime of IPBeja.
Besides, I am an Integrated Researcher of CEG-UAb – Centre for Global Studies of Aberta University and an Invited Member of PDPC – Centre for Privacy and Data Protection Studies and Analysis of “Universidade Europeia”, both in Lisbon. Aside from being an Adviser for Digital Issues of MISA-Mozambique – Media Institute of Southern Africa-Mozambique, an Honorary Academic of the São Paulo Law Academy, a Consulting Member of the Digital Law Commissions of the State Bar of Santa Catarina and the Municipal Bars of Campinas and Praia Grande (São Paulo), as well as of the Innovation, Management and Technology Commission of the Municipal Bar of Guarulhos (São Paulo), an Honorary Member of IDEIA – “Instituto Direito e Inteligência Artificial” (Belo Horizonte), as well as a Member of the Superior Council of the “Digital Law Academy” (São Paulo), all in Brazil, and a Member of EDEN – the Data Protection Experts Network of Europol – the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation. On the other hand, I am a Member of UMAU – the World Union for Agricultural Law and Food Law and a Corresponding Member of UBAU – the Brazilian Union of Agriculture Lawyers, as well as an Honorary Member of AIBADA – the Ibero-American Society for Food Law and a Meritorious Academician of ABLJA – the Brazilian Academy of Legal Agricultural Letters.
