Graduated in Portuguese-English Literature (UFS, 1990); Bachelor of Law (UFS, 1997); Master in Theory and Literary History (UNICAMP, 1999); PhD in History of Education (PUC-SP, 2006); Post-Doctorate in Comparative Literature (University of Lisbon, 2012) and in History of Education (Open University of Portugal, 2021). Full Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages (DLES) and the Postgraduate Programs in Education (PPGED) and Literature (PPGL) at UFS. CNPq researcher. Leader of the Research Group at the UFS Center for Cultural Studies (NECUFS), Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cultural Studies (REVEC). Member of the UNESCO-UFMG/DRI Chair Territorialities and Humanities: the Globalization of Lights. Member of the Scientific Council of the UNESCO Chair in Global Studies at the Open University. He is currently Director of the Marquês de Pombal Chair (Camões, I. P. / UFS).
