Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Education Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Coimbra. Post-doctorate in Educational Technologies and Communication also from the University of Coimbra. He is an Associate Professor with Aggregation in the Department of Education and Distance Learning at Universidade Aberta. Currently, he is the Director of the Porto Regional Office of Universidade Aberta and Foreign Coordinator of the Digital Education Research Group at Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), Brazil. He is a Collaborating Professor in the Postgraduate programs in Education and Contemporaneity and Management and Technology Applied to Education at the State University of Bahia (UNEB), Brazil, and a Guest Professor in the Specialization Course in Education and Technologies at the Federal University of São Carlos. He currently coordinates the Networked Digital Teaching Course for Higher Education at Universidade Aberta and collaborates with the General Directorate of the Ministry of Education in Portugal on the Digital Transition Plan.
