João Adriano Conduto Júnior was born in Bissau and is a chemical engineer, graduated from the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. He holds a master’s degree in International Economics from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, in the specialty of Monetary Integration.

He held a position at the FIMA (Unilever) plant, 1996-1998. He was an advisor to the Government of Portugal (of the Minister of Equipment, Planning and Territory Administration), 1998 and consultant to I.C.L. (Fujitsu), 1992-2001. 

Currently, he is a researcher at CLEPUL – Universidade de Lisboa and a member of the international advisory scientific council of Empreendipédia – Dictionary of Education for Entrepreneurship. He is a senior official at FOR-MAR, Portugal; Senior Adviser to the Chairman of Orango Investment Corporation and International Consultant. He is a founding member of ADEGI – Association for the Development of Global and Island Studies. He is an international consultant and non-executive chairman of the N.S. Engineering Foundation (UK) and CEO of the Benten Institute (GB). Lecturer at Estoril Political Forum of the Institute of Political Studies (Universidade Católica Portuguesa). Member of the Strategic Council for the Economy of the Sea of CIP – Confederation of Portuguese Business. He is a coordinating member of the Energy and Climate Forum.
