João Manuel Zamith de Franco Carrilho completed a Master’s degree in Remote Sensing in 1996/07/26 from the National Institute for Space Research, Brazil and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Construction and Mining in 1975 from the Industrial Institute of Maputo. He has been pursuing a PhD in Social Sustainability and Development at Universidade Aberta, Portugal, since 2020. He is a retired deputy minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mozambique. He is a Member of the National Land Policy Review Committee at the Ministry of Land and Environment of Mozambique. He has published 3 articles in specialized journals. It has 1 book chapter and 1 book. He works in the area of Social Sciences with an emphasis on Economic and Social Geography with an emphasis on Environmental Sciences, as a researcher, consultant and public policy advisor.
