Gabriela Nascimento holds a Bachelor’s degree in Letters – Translation – English from the University of Brasília (Brazil) and a Master’s degree in Translation Studies from the same university. She has been teaching Portuguese at the Hebei Communication Institute (China) since 2018. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in Global Studies at the Universidade Aberta (Portugal). Her research interests include literary and comic book translation, the history of education, globalization phenomena, and the dissemination of Southeast Asian television series in the West. Among her recent publications are: “The Cultural Perception of Chinese Students Learning Portuguese as a Foreign Language in an Immersive Pandemic Context,” “The (In)visibility of the Interpreter: The Representation of Abed in Notes on Gaza,” “Foreignization and Domestication in Tintin Comics,” and “Classics of Literature in Comics: An Analysis from the Perspective of Intersemiotic Translation.”
