I have a degree in Social Communication from the Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração [Santarém]. Postgraduate in Communication Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. Postgraduate and Master’s degree in Medieval and Renaissance History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, where I defended my PhD, Post-Doctorate and Aggregation exams in History. At the same time, I was a Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Fellow supported by the FCT. 
 

Since February 2011, I’ve been an Assistant Professor with Aggregation at ISCPSI – Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna [Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security], and i’m an integrated researcher at ICPOL – the Institute’s Research Centre. 
 

I am a Corresponding Academician at the Portuguese Academy of History; a corresponding member of the Scientific Council of the Portuguese Commission of Military History; a fellow member of the Royal Historical Society in London; a full member of the Lisbon Geographical Society.
