Emanuela Monteiro

I hold a degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) and completed my studies in Environmental Chemistry in 2008. Throughout my professional career, I have shifted away from Chemistry and gained experience in other areas, which led me to enroll in the master’s program in Management and Entrepreneurship at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ISCAL) in 2015. I am currently a candidate for a Ph.D. in Social Sustainability and Development. 

Professionally, I have been involved in procurement roles, initially in private entities, and currently in a public agency in the Public Procurement department (procurement of goods and services) in Lisbon. Considering that public procurement is a powerful instrument to promote a circular economy, environmentally and socially sustainable purchasing, I intend to develop my thesis in this field.
