André Carmo has a PhD in Geography from the University of Lisbon and is an assistant professor at the School of Science and Technology at the University of Évora. He currently coordinates the Évora branch of CICS.NOVA – Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, where he is a researcher in the Cities, Environment and Regional Development Research Group of the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences (CICS. NOVA.UÉvora). He is a collaborating researcher at ZOE – Urban and Regional Dynamics and Policies at the Centre for Geographical Studies at the University of Lisbon (CEG-UL) and a researcher in the Human Rights, Citizenship and Globalization research line at the Centre for Global Studies at Universidade Aberta (CEG-UAb). He has carried out research into processes of socio-territorial transformation, urban studies and geographical thought. He recently coordinated the works Espaço, Lugar e Território: Figuras do Pensamento Português Contemporâneo (Afrontamento, 2022), Sindicalismo no Ensino Superior e na Investigação.
