Born in Luanda, Angola, and holding a degree in Social Policy from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences, I am currently in the 3rd year of my Ph.D. in Intercultural Relations at the Universidade Aberta, where I am developing a thesis on the cultural competencies of border and coast guards of the FRONTEX agency during search and rescue missions in the Central Mediterranean. My professional experience has primarily been in the field of National Defense, where I currently serve as the Head of the Office of Material Resources at the Institute of Social Action of the Armed Forces (IASFA, I.P. – Ministry of National Defense). Throughout my career, I have also held advisory roles to the Director of the Army’s Center for Applied Psychology and the Board of Directors of IASFA, I.P., served as Coordinator of the Defense Single Desk for Veterans’ Affairs, and taught at the Army’s Higher Polytechnic School and the Military School of Electromechanics.
