Assistant Professor in the Department of Science and Technology at the Universidade Aberta (UAb), Portugal. She has a PhD in Biology (specializing in Microbiology) from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Universidade Nova, a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and a degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Porto. She teaches on the Degree in Environmental Sciences, the Masters in Food Science and the Masters in Citizenship and Environment and Participation at UAb. She is the Coordinator of the Degree in Environmental Sciences. Her main areas of research are “Non-Communicable Diseases in the Global World”, “Global Epidemiological Studies”, “Human Nutrition”, “Nutrition Education” and “Food Waste”.
