Ana Catarina Mesquita holds a Master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Portuguese Studies from the Open University and a Postgraduate degree in Applied Linguistics for the Teaching of Portuguese from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Porto. Her foundational education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages and Literatures, specializing in Portuguese and English Studies with an Educational Branch, from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Porto. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Global Studies at the Open University. With twenty years of teaching experience, she serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Polytechnic Institute of Porto, where she specializes in teaching English. Additionally, she works as a freelance translator and proofreader. Concurrently, she is a researcher at the Global Studies Chair of the Open University. Her main research interests are the English language, Portuguese language, language policy, and globalization.
