She obtained her PhD in Law at the University of Navarra (2010, Summa Cum Laude), being a research fellow of the FCT (2006-2009). She completed her undergraduate degree in Law at the UCP-Porto (2000) and the undergraduate degree in Canon Law at the University of Navarra (2004). She conducted part of her research at various national and international institutions, such as the Max Planck Institute for the History of European Law, the JusGov Research Centre at the University of Minho, the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford (UK), the Centre for Law and Religion at Cardiff University (UK), and Cesumar University (Brazil). Her main research areas include the History of International Law, European Union Law, Law and Religion, International Protection of Human Rights, and Anglo-Portuguese Relations.
